Adviza welcomed local business leaders to its Reading Centre yesterday. In a visit organised by Reading Connect, representatives from local companies listened to talks on our current projects before taking a tour of the centre.

Business leaders from 10 Reading-based companies, including Thames Water and Symantec, came to hear about our work and ways in which organisations like theirs can help us support young people in the area.

Some of our projects, such as the Time to Talk counselling service, the Lucky Break mentoring project and the Energise programme, offer volunteering opportunities for company staff. Local businesses can also help us introduce young people to the world of work by offering company visits and work experience placements, an important part of projects such as the Prince’s Trust Team Programme.

Delivery Director Bob Harrison said: “As a youth charity we welcome any opportunity to work in partnership with local employers and we are always looking for volunteers to pass on their own skills and knowledge to the young people we support in our projects. We thank Connect Reading for this great opportunity to link up with local companies.”
