Elevate Wokingham hub launched
8th Sep 2014
The new home of Adviza Wokingham, the Elevate hub in Wokingham Library, was officially launched on 8th September. Elevate Wokingham is the new one-stop-shop where young people looking for work or training can get information and advice from Adviza, Jobcentre Plus and other service providers.
The launch of the new centre was marked by a speech by John Redwood MP who said it was a great pleasure to be in the new hub and added: “It is important that we give support to young people as they think about their future career”. Judith Ramsden, Head of Children’s Services at Wokingham Borough Council, thanked all those involved in the initiative and those who came to support the launch.
Elevate Wokingham is funded by a government grant through the Thames Valley City Deal. Elevate is the City Deal Berkshire-wide brand. The project addresses the skills gap, unemployment and underemployment of 16-24 year olds across Berkshire.
Young people resident in Wokingham Borough wanting information, advice and guidance can drop in to chat to a member of the Adviza team at the following times: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 1pm-5pm and Wednesday from 10am-1pm. Alternatively, they can book an appointment by contacting the team:
