Students can discover Physiology, Lab Science, Medical Physics, Medical Engineering and Bioinformatics, there is something for everyone that likes science, engineering, maths, IT & computing. As well as the usual doctors, nurses and paramedics, the focus will be on Healthcare Science careers that are responsible for 85% of all the diagnostic tests in the NHS.
Students also get the opportunity to use real medical kit to find out what goes on in a hospital including having the opportunity to use an ECG machine to record their heart and an ultrasound machine to see images of the inside of their body.
Coding, Gaming & Apps Day – half a day
Students have the opportunity to develop their very own video game using a tool called Construct. Finally, feedback is provided and they will make a version of the game available to play online.
