On Wednesday 10th June the Elevate Reading hub was officially opened by Mayor Sarah Hacker. The celebratory launch took place in the new employment and skills hub for 16 - 24s at Reading Central library.

Floor 3 of the library has been fully refurbished to accommodate Elevate Reading's community partners including Adviza, National Careers Service, New Directions, Jobcentre Plus and Reading Voluntary Action.

Guests at the launch were shown around the new facilities and were able to see some of the projects in action, including Adviza's Work Fit programme for lone parents which started a new course this week.

Speaking at the launch Reading Borough Council Leader Jo Lovelock said: “Working with our partners, we are maximising the space on offer and providing employment advice and support services in a central location.”

Head of Housing and Neighbourhood Services Sarah Gee thanked the partners for creating such a vibrant and welcoming space.
