Adviza has teamed up with Thames Water to work on two of the charity’s youth programmes.  The Reading-based company gives their employees two days a year to work on community projects and has chosen to support Adviza by offering their employees the chance to become volunteer mentors.

The first group of volunteers has been recruited with more to follow on a six monthly rolling programme.  Fifteen Thames Water employees have just completed an induction programme with Adviza, which comprised interview days, a training day and a network challenge day, where they attended an event at Reading College to network with NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training) young people.

The volunteers will now be carefully matched to a young person either from the Lucky Break Mentoring project or the Energise programme.

Dianne Aston, Team Leader said “We are delighted to have the support of one of Reading’s major employers for our mentoring projects.  Their staff have a wealth of experience to offer and it’s a great opportunity for the young people to find out about a local company.”
