4th Dec 2013

Time to Talk Reading is holding an Open Day to raise awareness of the service and the volunteering opportunities available.  The young people’s counselling service, which is managed by Adviza, offers free confidential sessions for all 11-19 year olds (up to 25 with special needs) in Reading.

The Open Day will be held from 11am to 1pm on Saturday 14th December at Time to Talk Reading’s office within the Reading Connexions Centre, 136/7 Friar Street, Reading.  It will provide an opportunity for anyone interested in volunteering or referring to the service to chat to the counselling co-ordinators, see the facilities and pick up an application pack or referral form, whilst enjoying a hot drink and mince pie.

Reading Borough Council’s preferred provider, Time to Talk Reading offers young people an opportunity to talk through concerns in their lives, such as stress, anxiety, relationships, self harm and bullying, with carefully chosen and qualified counsellors.   The service is delivered by a team of volunteer counsellors and support/admin workers.  We are currently recruiting volunteers and enquiries from those with admin experience, qualified counsellors and students in the latter stages of their counselling training looking for a placement are welcomed.

For further details about the event please contact Joyce Otira on 0118 903 5151 or email joyceotira@adviza.org.uk.
