Volunteer Independent Supporters wanted
31st Oct 2014
Adviza is recruiting volunteer Independent Supporters to work with young people in Berkshire, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire. The charity is looking for inspirational individuals who have a few hours each week to spare and are keen to use their skills and experience to help young people with special educational needs and their families.
Independent Supporters work directly with young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities and their parents going through the new assessment for an Education, Health and Care plan. They provide impartial independent information, advice and support.
This is an opportunity for anyone interested in Special Educational Needs to help young people set out their hopes and aspirations, and support them and their families in making decisions for the future. Adviza will provide full training, regular support and supervision. In return the charity would need volunteers to commit to a minimum of 4 hours per week.
Anyone interested in becoming an Independent Supporter and wanting to find out more should contact Sue Brooks, Strategic Lead (SEND) on 07919 307481 or click here to apply.
