What’s in it for you?

Salary and pay progression

We know that money isn’t everything, but our salary scales are competitive and regularly bench marked within our sector. Additionally, as a not for profit organisation, we try to invest part of any  surplus  we  generate towards our employees. This can be applied in a number of ways such as an annual Cost of Living Increase, or, for a smaller surplus a bonus gift voucher at  the end of the year, for example.

Progression through our scales is a proactive process that is dictated initially by you. Twice every year we take applications from individuals for pay point increases based on your personal contribution to the organisation. So, when you and your manager think you are ready, and have the evidence to put forward, you can submit an application for consideration.

Your personal development

Our vision is for all young people and adults to make better decisions that help them to progress in learning and work and achieve their full potential. That visions also applies to our colleagues, and so we actively encourage continuing  professional development for every individual that works for us.  We do this in a variety of ways, from funding to achieve qualifications through to allocated time in everyone’s caseload/ working hours, that is dedicated to training and development.

Helping others prepare for the future is our core business and that applies to our colleagues too. Our pension scheme, provided through Legal & General, is an industry leading product – and as your employer, we go above the minimum requirements by matching your own level of contribution up to 10% of your salary.

We recognise that time away from work is an essential part of maintaining  a healthy work life balance. As well as ensuring you have your statutory bank holidays we offer 25 days holiday per year (for those who work full time)  at the start of your career with us. This rises to 30 days once you have been with us for 5 years. Rest assured that time simply flies by!

Work/life balance – our genuine commitment to flexible working

We have always been an exceptionally flexible employer and have always supported colleagues who wish to work part time or term time, for some roles, or compressed fortnightly working patterns for others. Currently 51% of our workforce works part time or term time and over 90% work outside of the 9-5 tradition - so long as you can get the job done we have no preconceived ideas about the “right way” to organise your time.

The COVID-19 pandemic really brought our flexible approach to the fore front with quite a bang! Practically overnight we moved to a home based workforce and, whilst that naturally  limited our “business as usual” delivery,  we do not intend to lose the incredible benefits that being denied  office  space brought with it - now that things have moved on. So, we welcome and support hybrid working where we can. Don’t need to go to the office every day or every week? That’s fine, so long as we all stay in touch – and get the job done!

Our culture

We sometimes refer to ourselves as an organisation that is “small but perfectly formed” - but in reality we are reflective enough to understand that are not completely ” perfectly formed”. We are, and have always been, committed to equality, diversity and inclusion, but we recognise that being committed sometimes isn’t quite enough to broaden our appeal and ensure that we are a truly and actively diverse and inclusive place to work. That means  we know that it’s not just what we say that matters - but also that what we do. We want to listen to all voices, take action where we need to and proactively include everyone to enable a sense of belonging.

We have recently commissioned an honest and open review of our equality, diversity and inclusion organisational health; and we have some very positive recommendations to take forward to build on. Our report recognised that the team members in Adviza are “incredibly caring and focussed on getting things right for their clients” and we know that this can be readily extended to colleagues.

Now for the perks

Sometimes we all just need a little treat and access to some online support and resources. As part of our employee benefits package all Adviza colleagues have a subscription to Perkbox Sapphire (their top package)  + Medical. This is taxable benefit, but as your employer we will fully cover that cost ourselves so it doesn’t impact on your take home pay.

Your Perkbox Sapphire subscription offers, among many other benefits, free access to

  • Aura, the mindfulness app,
  • magpie for personalised professional development,
  • Boxx for online workout and wellness classes,

Through Perkbox we also offers access to confidential counselling support and through the Medical package online access to a GP 24/7.

You also get a free  “birthday box” (on your birthday naturally!) and other weekly treats – who isn’t up  for a  free Greggs sausage roll  or drink from Café Nero?

There are also a whole host of discounts on shopping and other purchases to stretch  your salary that little bit further.

Where will you be based?

All of our delivery roles can require significant travel, so you may be required to visit a variety of venues and are unlikely to be office based. We generally expect to hire candidates who live within a 10-mile radius of the locations they will work in, and travel to work and home again within that radius will be part of your daily commute. We cover travel expenses that are not part of that daily commute.
