Adviza shortlisted for two CDI awards
1st Feb 2019
The Career Development Institute (CDI) hosts its annual UK Career Development Awards in March and we are delighted to announce that Adviza is shortlisted for two awards and is sponsoring one of this year's awards.
The Rodney Cox Lifetime Achievement Award is presented to an individual who has made an outstanding, ongoing and sustained contribution to the field of career development. Rodney’s significant contribution spanned some 50 years during which time he worked tirelessly and with great energy and enthusiasm for the advancement of the career development profession. We are extremely proud to be invited to sponsor this award as at Adviza we are share this commitment for promoting excellence in career development practice.
Our colleague Tevfick Souleiman has been shortlisted for Careers Service Manager of the Year. Tev is a team leader for the National Careers Service contract and is proof that with commitment, motivation and passion anything is possible. Due to a regrettable incident, Tev’s life was turned upside down and he hit rock bottom when he was given a 10 year prison sentence in 2012. He served five years in custody and was released on licence in March 2018. After hard work and determination he has proved to be a respected and inspirational manager, continually achieving high performance and is regularly praised by his team members for his support and dedication of his team.
Tev said: “I’m absolutely thrilled at being shortlisted. Despite only having worked in the careers industry for just over two years, I find the work very rewarding and to be able to see how my work helps to change lives gives me immense satisfaction. Adviza has given me a new lease of life and I am grateful for all the great support and guidance I have received over the last few years.”
Our fun space-themed resource Careers Planet has been shortlisted for Careers Programme/Careers Project in a Primary School.
Careers Planet has been developed to introduce Key Stage 2 and 3 pupils to the world of work in an imaginative way. Through a series of lesson plans and activities, pupils become astronauts and voyage to a make-believe galaxy to discover 23 careers planets and the jobs that exist on them. The resource has just been updated for 2018/19.
Performance manager Alex Chapel said: “We are thrilled to be nominated. Careers Planet is such a great product and loved by many teachers and students. It’s great that our resource has been recognised by the CDI.”
The UK Career Development Awards ceremony will take place in Leeds on Wednesday 6th March.
