Wishing you and your families peace and light this holiday season and throughout the coming year.

Did you know that…

The word “Hanukkah” is Hebrew for “dedication”. Hanukkah is an eight-day Jewish winter festival of lights that commemorates the reclamation of the Jewish Holy Temple in Jerusalem by a small band of Jews known as the Maccabees, from the ruling Seleucids (Syrian-Greeks) in the Second Century BCE.

The timing of the festival is determined by the ancient Hebrew calendar, not the Gregorian calendar, which is why the dates change from year to year.

This year, Hanukkah is celebrated from sundown on November 28th until sundown on December 6th.
