We are proud to announce that we will launch the next round of The Prince’s Trust Team programmes on 9th May in Bracknell and Aylesbury.

Transforming young lives with Team

This fantastic employability initiative can change lives. Below are some recent examples of how the Team programme has helped young people.

Since completing the programme in September last year, John* has started working as a waiter at an illustrious racecourse, Andrew is working full time at a pub and Steve is on a six-month Kickstart placement working at a school library, with plans to apply for an apprenticeship in Business Administration.

The men, aged between 18 and 20, had found lockdown challenging, struggling to gain employment at a time when widespread layoffs meant many more experienced candidates were applying for vacancies in the few sectors that were still hiring.

Getting him work experience meant people could see what a great worker he was and how keen he was to succeed.

Andrew lacked confidence and struggled with interviews but during his work experience placement at a pub as part of the programme he so impressed his colleagues that he was offered a job.

"Getting him work experience meant people could see what a great worker he was and how keen he was to succeed", says Jasmine Roberts, who leads the Bracknell Team programme. "This is typical of the sort of opportunity that The Prince’s Trust Team programme can expose people to.”

What is The Prince’s Trust Team programme?

Team is an inspiring 12-week personal development programme for people aged 16-24 who are not in education, employment or training. It includes community and team work, workplace skills coaching and exposure to new career options. It helps participants develop new skills, gain a qualification, meet new people and above all, build confidence and motivation for learning and work.

How employers can contribute to The Prince’s Trust Team programme

Local employers can help to positively impact the future of our young people by participating in the programme. They can offer work experience or community projects, or volunteer employees to speak to young people about the careers they offer. No business is too small to get involved. Please contact Jasmine or Heloise to get involved.
