The project works with Special schools and PRU’s across Berkshire, Oxford and Buckinghamshire and is funded by the Careers & Enterprise Company’s Personal Guidance Fund. It provides work experience for 150 young people aged 16-18 with special educational needs, who are within education, to support them into a work environment and identify the skills they have learnt.

The programme will also be educating employers on working with people with special educational needs and supporting them. 

This programme includes:

  • Careers interview
  • Overview of post 16 options
  • Sourcing a work placement
    - Upskilling employer
    - Preparing employer
    - Pre placement preparation for young person
  • Placement support as required
  • After placement debrief
  • Work experience log book

The programme runs from January 2019 and September 2020.
