On the Right Track is a supplementary careers programme to support the virtual schools in Buckinghamshire and Reading with careers guidance and achieving the 8 Gatsby benchmarks. Funded by the Careers & Enterprise Company’s Personal Guidance Fund,

The programme includes having access to virtual information and face to face elements for key career touchpoints, to support young people in years 7-13 who are part of the Reading and Buckinghamshire virtual schools (or 19-25 year olds who have an EHCP) and their careers. It is tailored for Looked After Children.

This programme includes:

  • Assessment at the start of the programme

  • Post 16 options

  • Hands on activities on how to use LMI

  • STEM careers information

  • How to challenge gender stereotyping

  • Morrisby assessment for appropriate age groups

  • Visits from learning providers, colleges, universities, apprenticeship providers

  • A range of employer encounters

  • Work experience interactions for KS4 and KS5

  • One-to-one careers interviews

  • Support for the virtual schools to redesign the PEP content
