Ready to make the right choice and take the next step in your career?
Keen to work in the not-for-profit sector – where it’s the clients that matter and not the shareholders?

Then a role working for Adviza, a registered charity that inspires and supports young people and adults to progress in learning and work, could be the right choice for you.

We like to grow our own talent and we are ready to take on a cohort of new
Trainee Careers Advisers, so are looking for recent graduates who are searching for their right career move into a permanent role. We are keen to hear from candidates from all backgrounds, and we hope you can bring your recent learning focussed mind-set to help in our mission to make a positive difference for all young people and adults we engage with.

Our Trainee Careers Adviser roles

Some of our Careers Advisers work with adults through the National Careers Service and others work with young people in schools. Our work helps people to make good decisions about their future careers, consider learning opportunities and prepare for interviews.

As a trainee careers adviser we offer you the opportunity to gain a Level 6 Careers Guidance qualification, which is fully funded by us and means that you will be a professional Careers Adviser able to join the register of the Career Development Institute. Our graduate programme seeks to bring together a small cohort of individuals who can then support each other, as you start your careers journey with us.

It takes about two years to achieve the qualification. During that time, depending on the type of role you fill, our aim is to offer you a range of experience in either National Careers Service work with adults, or alternatively, in careers support with young people in schools, which could include an opportunity to work in our more intensive support projects with young people, such as The Prince’s Trust.

From the start, this is a permanent role with us – so we can reap the benefits from our investment in you!

See the information pack here.

What do we need from you?

  • We need your initiative and willingness to learn. You need to be genuinely interested in people and committed to helping them make progress with their career ideas
  • We need your commitment to your own career development to successfully gain the Level 6 qualification
  • We need your resilience; we are very supportive but a lot of the job involves working on your own in schools or community venues and, when appropriate, from home.

What’s in it for you?

Well, as well as a permanent job and a fully funded Level 6 qualification, we offer a good pension scheme and 25 days holiday allowance, as well as your eight statutory bank holidays. We are a genuinely flexible and inclusive employer and will support colleagues to work in the way that suits them best; as long as we can still get the job done.

As part of our benefits package we also provide all of our staff with a subscription to Perkbox which, amongst many other benefits, gives you free access to:

  • Aura, the mindfulness app
  • magpie for personalised professional development
  • Boxx for online workout and wellness classes.

Through Perkbox we also offer access to confidential counselling support and online access to a GP 24/7. You also get a free “birthday box” and other treats and discounts like a free movie streaming code every month.

Our teams are friendly and supportive and even through the pandemic they have made sure that new colleagues are able to settle in quickly.
