We are delighted to announce that an employee of Adviza has once again been shortlisted for a UK Career Development Award (UKCDA) by the Career Development Institute (CDI). Our colleague Lucy Warner is in the running for Public Sector Careers Adviser/Coach of the Year.

Lucy joined Adviza in 2017 as a level-4 qualified careers adviser. Alongside her busy role delivering high quality advice and guidance to our National Careers Service customers, Lucy studied for the new Career Development Professional (CDP) Level 6 apprenticeship. In January 2022 she became the first person ever to achieve the apprenticeship.

As part of her qualification Lucy undertook a research project looking into face to face versus virtual delivery and the impact on the both customer and the adviser in a COVID-impacted careers landscape. She presented her findings to the Senior Leadership Team and the content of the research undertaken was to such a high standard that it has helped to optimise the digital delivery of our Careers Guidance service to schools, young people and adults.

In November, Lucy was appointed as the first Digital Services Lead at Adviza. This is Lucy’s first management role within Adviza and she has quickly embedded herself within the team, providing a high quality service to all users, developing and encouraging the team in a highly professional and motivated way. 

Adviza's Head of IAG, Sue Cross, said: "I am thrilled that Lucy is getting the recognition from the industry that she deserves. She has transformed digital delivery content within Adviza over the past two years and has really stepped up to innovate delivery methods within the challenges posed by COVID. Lucy is a genuine role model within the careers guidance field and she is a trailblazer for the Level 6 Apprenticeship showing all that can be achieved with hard work and dedication."

The winners will be announced at the UKCDA 2022 ceremony at the #100YearsOfCareers celebration at Blists Hill Victorian Town, Telford, Shropshire on Saturday 18th June.
