Employers

Working in partnership to inspire, transform and develop communities

We work in close partnership with employers throughout our regions, delivering support through a number of contracts, projects, products and services that open doors to opportunities.

All our employer services aim to make a positive difference to the lives of individuals - through and in partnership with employers - by giving them the best chance of success in learning and work.

We’re passionate about transforming the economic and social health of communities in our regions, and we believe that working closely with employers is the right way to do it. What’s more, we’re fully resourced to provide all our services remotely as conditions require.

Berkshire employers wanted for our employability programme

Help us grow local talent in Berkshire with BEEP

The Berkshire Education Employer Partnership (BEEP) is a new fully-funded employability programme that aligns schools and colleges with local employers to develop employability skills and talent in our young people. It has been adapted for the pandemic era so the next generation won’t miss out on key employability opportunities.

As a local employer you can play a vital role in building opportunities for the next generation in Berkshire while nurturing your own future workforce.

You don’t have to be a big employer or able to accommodate lengthy work placements to take part. Any level of commitment will help.

How you can help

You can get involved by:

  • Providing virtual or onsite work experience, placements, internships, workplace visits and marketplace events
  • Creating more opportunities and employer encounters for young people, career fairs and employer open days
  • Mentoring students and young people
  • Discussing with young people the careers you offer or the skills you value
  • Offering apprenticeships and T-Levels, the new technical vocational qualification.

BEEP will provide you with:

  • Ongoing support and coaching to help you accommodate young people and build your confidence to work with them
  • The ability to build capacity and networks between employers
  • Brokerage to align students with appropriate opportunities for work experience/training
  • Increased knowledge of young people through work placements and longer T-Levels
  • Young people matched for your organisation.

Who is BEEP for?

BEEP is for anyone aged 15-24 and living in Berkshire, with intensive support available for those with Special Educational Needs or Not in Education, Employment or Training.

Who delivers BEEP?

BEEP is delivered by careers charity Adviza and our delivery partners Activate Learning, AIM Group, Learning to Work, Newbury College and West Berkshire EBP. The programme is funded by the European Social Fund and the Department of Work and Pensions.

Our work with employers

  • Employer engagement in schools
We can facilitate partnerships between local employers and schools. Activities include pupil mentoring, careers workshops,  employer talks, mock interviews and CV advice.

  • Enterprise and employability
We raise awareness about skills gaps and promote career paths that match local demand through local events, workshops, careers fairs, work placements and other employer engagement activities.

  • Skills brokerage for SMEs
We can carry out high-quality skills assessments and training needs analysis for SMEs in our regions, sourcing appropriate training solutions to address skills gaps and ensure local employers have high-performing teams during challenging times. We recently supported over 800 businesses in Buckinghamshire, in partnership with Buckinghamshire Business First.

  • Support for redundancy
We can provide tailored services to help you support employees through restructures or redundancy. We help to redeploy redundant staff to sectors experiencing high demand and provide comprehensive careers guidance and support to at-risk staff to help them maintain their self-confidence and wellbeing and prepare them for a positive future.
Thanks for being such a credible stakeholder in this process with the businesses. There was considerable positive feedback from some of the associates who had calls with Adviza during the Spring lockdown, some advisors even helped associates with writing CVs which they thought was very helpful for them. All in all a positive piece of work. Employer in Swindon
  • Support for recruitment, retention and development
We can support your recruitment by conducting shortlisting, remote interviews and assessment. Our employee progression workshops help local employers retain, develop and invest in their staff.

  • Apprenticeships
Apprenticeships are an asset to any organisation and bring significant benefits to your business and existing workforce. We can advise employers about all aspects of recruiting and employing Apprentices.

  • Employing workers aged 50+
We provide expert guidance around employing older workers to enable employers to make the most of this valuable resource.

  • Employing ex-offenders
We facilitate relationships with local prisons and employers, helping to change the perception of ex-offenders while finding them work that provides valuable skills to the local community.
