Supporting your child during key transition points Here are some useful tips: Be involved, but not in control Advise, but do not decide Support but do not dominate Gain a shared understanding of your son/daughter’s likes and dislikes What are their strengths and weaknesses Put them in contact with any work colleagues, friends and neighbours who do jobs that they are interested in When old enough help them to find work experience/work shadowing to support future applications and CVs. Parent webinars We are running free webinars across the academic year to help parents of students in Years 10 to 12 support their child to make choices at key stages.
