For Pride month 2021, a month dedicated to celebrating the LGBTQ+ communities all around the world, our Chief Executive, Katharine Horler, reflects on what diversity means to Adviza.

If I were to sum up what I think Adviza stands for, it would be enhancing opportunities for everybody. Our mission is to make a positive difference for all young people and adults so that they have the best possible chance to progress successfully in learning and work. Our values include championing equality, diversity, accessibility and simplicity and treating everyone with respect and dignity. That includes the young people and adults who are our customers as well as partners and colleagues.

Reflecting the diversity of our communities

I believe Pride month reflects everything we stand for, but in particular the diversity of the customers and communities we support. As an organisation whose purpose is to provide better opportunities in learning and work to the communities and individuals who need us, we can only thrive if we are informed by viewpoints and perspectives as broad as those we serve. It is integral to our values to help people shine and be the best version of themselves.

It makes sense, then, that we are proud to celebrate people for who they are and to ensure that both our service and our workplace is enjoyable, welcoming, and provides psychological safety for everyone. We are proud to support anybody who needs us, and to increase opportunities for everybody to be successful in life.
