Careers charity Adviza is working with Wycombe FM and Buckinghamshire County Council on a new employability project for year 11 school leavers, as part of its Building Futures employability programme.

The exciting “Employment FM” project starts on 14th September and runs for five weeks every Wednesday and Thursday pm.

Participants will create their own material about a subject of their choice, particularly one that relates to the local community. They will have a slot on the Wycombe FM drive-time show, and some productions may also be showcased within the local Bucks Heroes project at Discover Bucks Museum.

Jazz Mann, the initiative’s Project Leader from Adviza, said:

Employment FM will give year 11 school leavers the chance to learn essential employability skills embedded within the exciting experience of radio presenting. It will all come together when they learn how to inject their enthusiasm and personality into their own radio slot.

They will be in a safe, nurturing and supportive environment guided by an Adviza keyworker and the Wycombe FM radio team, and helped to make their own independent, well-informed decisions about their next steps.

Any students interested in taking part in this exciting project should email their details to [email protected] or speak to Jazz Mann, Project Leader, on 07747 476756.
