Go to Teachers Home Students Parents Teachers Events eCLIPS Webchat News Traineeships A Traineeship is a programme ranging from 6 weeks to a maximum of 1 year consisting of work experience, English and mathematics (for those that need it) and general skills for employability and life. It is aimed at young people who have not achieved English or mathematics GCSE grade 4-9 or Functional Skills Level 2 in Year 11 and those that need additional short-term development and support. Check training provider websites to see if they offer Traineeships. For more information go to gov.uk/find-traineeship. What Level? Level 2 What Next? You could move into an apprenticeship or start another type of vocational course. Where can I find out more? Traineeships can be offered by local colleges, training providers or employers. To find out where offers traineeships in your local area you can use the government website to do a search.
