It helps to have an understanding of the different levels of qualification, what they mean and how they compare to one another.
The level of the programme that you will be able to start will depend on what qualifications you already have or are expecting to achieve by the time you move on from Year 11. GCSEs are graded using a numbered scale from 9 to 1.Currently, if you are not awarded a GCSE at grade 4 or higher in English or maths, those subjects will be included in your next course or training programme.
