    The media industry includes newspapers, magazines, film and video, publishing, printing, TV, radio, special and visual effects, animation and interactive media. There are creative jobs, technical jobs and jobs for people who are good with words. It's a popular area of work because some jobs seem very glamorous, so it can be difficult to get started.

    News:

    Evenbreak Meet the Employers Virtual Events
    The BBC will feature in our next Zoom meet the employer on Thursday, 29th of February. They will discuss what it’s like to work at the BBC as a disabled person, their recruitment process and what their doing to embed an inclusive culture.

    Ofcom will be hosting their Zoom meet the employer a month later. Thursday, 14th of March is when you will be able to hear about all things Ofcom. This event will discuss life at Ofcom and the accessibility and inclusion there too.
     
    Channel 4 will host the final seminar on Tuesday, 26th of March. Find out about their recruitment process, what life is like at Channel and much more!

    Many young people have been inspired by TV shows, movies etc. to follow a particular career. We have collated some resources here for you to discover. We have included podcasts because they are the best way to get real insight into the industry’s current dynamics and are a great way to demonstrate knowledge and passion in personal statements and interviews.

    Please note, we have not specified the platforms for these resources as they can change over time. We suggest you do a web search for the title – you will often find them on YouTube in their entirety. Some titles will only be available for a fee or subscription.
